Baseball

As an official for baseball, REOA covers Pony/Colt, High School, American Legion, Joe DiMaggio, Junior College and Adult Summer Leagues.

You are provided training per league you wish to work and are assigned (if a first year official) a mentor. Rules reviews and on field training are provided.
To specifically officiate High School you must have 18 hrs of training before the season. This includes classroom, rules reviews, access to a reference library, videos and field clinics.

Meetings start the second week in January for High School and April for Pony/Colt, Joe DiMaggio, JC summer ball and adult leagues.

Softball

As an official for Softball, REOA services games in High School, fast-pitch. REOA also services Men’s, Women’s and Co-Ed Adult Recreation Slow-Pitch softball.

You are provided training per league rules in leagues you wish to work and are assigned a mentor (if you are a first year official).  Training consists of rules reviews and on field training.  To specifically officiate High School Fast-pitch you must have 18 hours of training before the season begins. This includes rules reviews, classroom study, access to a reference library, videos and field clinics.

Meetings for fast-pitch begin approximately in February.  Meetings for slow-pitch and summer ASA fast-pitch begin in April.

Volleyball

As an official for Volleyball, REOA services High School and Adult Recreation leagues.

You are provided training per league rules and if you are a first year official you are assigned a mentor to assist you. To work High School games you must attend 18 hours of training, which includes classroom work, rules reviews, clinics, and on court time. You will have access to training videos and a reference library.

Meetings begin approximately in September for High School and December for adult leagues.

Football

As an official for Football REOA services games in Youth and High School.

You are provided training per league and if you are a first year official you will be provided with a mentor to assist you. To officiate High School games you must attend 18 hours of training, which include classroom, field clinics, access to videos, reference library and rules review.

Meetings begin in July for High School. Classes for Youth Leagues begin in August.

Wrestling

As an official for Wrestling, REOA covers games at the High School level only.

You will be provided training per NFHS rules and must attend 18 hours of training before the season begins. Included in this training is classroom work, clinics, rules review, access to videos and a reference library.

Meetings begin in October.

Basketball

As an official for Basketball, REOA services games in Youth, CYO, High School and Adult Recreation Leagues.

You are provided training and if you are a first year official you are provided with a mentor to help you. To officiate High School game you must complete 18 hours of training in classroom, court clinics and rules review. You will have access to a video and reference library. CYO and Adult Recreation League have their own variations of rules and you will be trained to know those variations

Meetings begin in October for all leagues.

Soccer

As an official for Socce,r REOA covers games at the High School and JR College levels.

To officiate High School you must attend 18 hours of training with field time, classroom work and you will need to pass a rules review. You may substitute training that you receive thru FIFA as some of those 18 hours. Available to Soccer officials is work in summer leagues, adult leagues and traveling teams. These are not assigned through REOA but REOA assignors do handle these types of games. If you are a first year official you will be assigned a mentor to assist you.

Training begins in August for High School but classes and training for FIFA are ongoing.
